Pullo da man!!!

HBO’s Rome was my favorite show of 2005. I always find myself thinking back to the adventures of Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo. Thanks to TiVo, I can get my Rome fix whenever I want and I’m reminded about the great lines Pullo wold utter.

I’m starting a page where I can list my favorite Pullo quotations. Here is my initial list and feel free to suggest other lines.

I’m back

Every once in a while life gets in the way of hobbies. That’s whey they’re called hobbies. It’s been exactly one month since my last post. Now that I’ve got a few minutes to spare and post again, I’ll update the majority of my random thughts.

The Shield Just caught the Season Finale of the Shield on TiVo the other day. All I can say is WOW. Not since the first season have I been so hooked. I found myself constantly torn between Vick Mackey the badge wielding Cop Killer and the loyal to the end friend hell bent on protecting those closest to him–at all costs. Their tagline for the season was very appropriate-”Consience is a killer”. Now I can’t wait until next season when Shane has to keep from getting out that he’s the guilty one. Anyone who saw last season, knows Shane isn’t a shrewd guy and will have a hard time keeping the stink off of himself.

Dodgers LogoThe Dodgers have a couple more weeks before the next season starts. At least Vin Scully will still be there. As long as that’s the case, Dodgers will always provide the nostalgic experience I enjoy from Dodgers baseball. Hopefully they’ll win way more than 71 games this year and actually give me a reason to make it out to the stadium.

Lakers LogoAs we all knew would be the case, the Lakers are mired in mediocrity thankful to have a playoff spot to call their own at this point in time. Nothing like a $10 million a year coach to set expectations low so that everyone is amazed when the team actually squeaks into the play-offs. This coach doesn’t seem to be able to get the team to takes its collective head out of its collective arse. The point highlighted by losing games to the Nets and Cavs on final possession mishpas recently. But hey, they beat the Kings after a tape session following a cross country flight. That’s definitely worth the $10M price tag for the coach.

Stanford LogoStanford basketball as expected didn’t get invited to the Dance and won a single game in the NIT. Time to put this miserable season behind us and look forward to next season when the next twin towers come along to propel us towards another NCAA tourney appearance streak.

A full time and a 4 month old combine to keep very busy, but I’ll be back again. Maybe not as long as a month , but definitely back.
